Omnempathy is happy to announce the first event in what we hope to be a long and fruitful relationship with Edinburgh’s beautiful Queen’s Hall venue.
To begin, there is the first in an irregular season of informal, intimate shows in the Queen’s Hall bar that celebrate the beautiful, challenging and innovative territories bordering contemporary, classical and experimental music; Liminal Nights.
Liminal Nights #1 features Chris Connelly, Michael Begg and Linda Buckley.
Chris Connelly and Michael Begg perform New Town Nocturnes, their emotionally charged, elegiac invocation of Edinburgh in the 1980s. Michael also presents some sonic archaeology, and Linda Buckley performs a solo set for laptop and voice.
Chris Connelly, a stalwart of the many guises of industrial music – inc. FiniTribe, Ministry, RevCo – returns to Edinburgh for his first show in over 30 years.
Michael Begg is an award winning composer whose music is located in the place where formal composition and electronic erosion meet; a liminal space coloured by longing and discomfort.
Glasgow based Linda Buckley is one of the most exciting Irish composers to emerge in recent years. She has a particular interest in merging her classical training with the worlds of post punk, folk and ambient electronics.
Liminal Nights #1 takes place on Thursday, June 27th 2019.
