Michael Begg (Human Greed / Fovea Hex) will be perfomring a solo show in Hebden Bridge, England on November 3rd.
Please note that Michael Begg’s Glasgow show, where he was scheduled to appear as a guest of Chrysta Bell at Oran Mohr on November 28th has been postponed until April 2014.
On May 22nd 2013, Michael Begg opened for Chrysta Bell at Edinburgh’s Voodoo Rooms. A recording was captured from the mixer and although raw and subject to drop outs and phazing, the document still reveals an interesting insight into the direction being pursued by Begg.
The set is now available on “pay what you like” terms – free, basically – from the omnempathy Bandcamp. Enjoy.
UPDATED – PLEASE NOTE THAT THE HUMAN GREED PERFORMANCE WILL NOW TAKE PLACE ON MAY 31st.
Human Greed will be perfoming their first live show since the release of 2011’s Fortress Longing in Turin, Italy on MAY 31st as part of the Abnomalie season.
To co-incide with this show there will be an exhibition of Deryk Thomas prints featuring work from the deBosch series – opening June 6th in the AB Normal Studio.
Also featured among the artists appearing, exhibiting and performing throughout this innovative season are friends and associates Nurse With Wound, Blind Cave Salamander and Nicole M. Boitos – who provided Human Greed with the wonderful, iconic Blue Lamb cover image for Fortress Longing.
From the aBnomalie press release:
“aBnomalie” is an oblique review of visual art and music curated by Fabrizio Modonese Palumbo and Marco “il Bue” Schiavo (both members of the band Larsen) and produced and set up by AB Normal Tattoo Studio (operated by Cristian Restivo and Marco Schiavo) in collaboration with Musica 90 and O.F.F. Booking+Management with the intention of highlighting the connection between the aforementioned artistic languages.
In its first edition the review will present 4 international artists who will display their work at AB Normal, who aims to show the significance of tattooing both socially and artistically, and will be accompanied by perofrmances, concerts and dj sets in AB Normal’s studio as well as other locations involved in (counter)culture and urban research.
Human Greed will perform at the Intermediale Festival, Legnica, Poland (Festiwal Form Audiowizualnych INTERMEDIALE 2010) on Friday 26th November. Fragile Pitches, the collaborative piece by Colin Potter and Michael Begg which debuted in 2009 at St Giles Cathedral Edinburgh will also be performed at the festival on the same evening, and will feature a live mixed video projection by Polish audio visual artist Krzysztof Pawlik.
The event takes place in the Teatr Modrzejewskiej, Legnica (pictured above)
Michael Begg and Colin Potter perform Fragile Pitches at Edinburgh’s St Giles Cathedral, Dec 30th 2009. The event took place in a dimly lit cathedral and so the quality is consequently very poor. Nonetheless, the event is worth documenting. Footage captured by Elise Chandler. Other clips can be found on the omnempathy youtube channel… http://www.youtube.com/user/Omnempathy
