Using handheld footage from the audience and material from the projected backdrop to the set, this 9 minute clip has been compiled from the recent show in Torino. It features a cover version of Tim Hardin’s Eulogy to Lenny Bruce and An End To Death.
There is something uncomfortable about tempting fate by announcing this. The road to get this far has been peppered with confusion, misinformation and doubt. So although only a couple of weeks away, I am still not entirely convinced this event is going to happen at all. But, to show that I have an understanding of the nature of faith…
Fovea Hex (Clodagh Simonds, Laura Sheeran, Cora Venus Lunny, Julia Kent, Colin Potter, yours truly) will be playing in the spectacular Teatro Valli in Reggio Emilia, Italy on 1st November. This event comes within the auspices of the annual REC Festival. We will be joined on stage by a six piece choir and il Bue, the percussionist from our good friends, Larsen. Also appearing on the night will be Blind Cave Salamander, and a solo set from Colin Potter.
A quick line of thanks to all those in the Monte Bondone mountains and the alpine ecology centre in the Trento region of northern Italy who made the recent Fovea Hex performance so memorable.
The show itself was plagued with technical difficulties including the power of the sun during soundcheck, the mystery feedback that destroyed the monitor mix and the variable power coming from the portable generator, but according to the responses I have been receiving it seems Fovea Hex have once again worked their wonders.
Unbeknown to us, when the moon broke through the clouds on the Terrace of the Stars, deer could be seen running across the landscape behind the stage.
Just another one of those Hex moments that stills the breath and fills the soul.
This has just been posted on the Fovea Hex MySpace profile…
