The article comprises thoughts and reflections on silence and a “nearly review” of the recent vinyl compilation, Sounds Of Silence by Italian label Alga Marghen.

“This minor release potentially provides the bleakest waypoint yet. A physical artefact with no content and stolen context. Physically there, but absent by any other measure. The opposite, in fact, of silence.”

The piece, filed under The Quietus’s “Rum Music” strand also features a review by Stephen Graham of a recent live event exploring silence at Kings Place.
